| 🧨 Introduction
── ⋅ ── ♢ ── ⋅ ──
Phoenix Solaris is one of the deuteragonists in Bewilthred. Fiery and passionate, Phoenix’s energetic spirit is impossible to extinguish. Unafraid to speak her mind and stand up for those in need, she’s akin to a big sister figure amongst the warriors. Though many have tried to stomp her out, Phoenix’s enthusiastic and outspoken nature has never faltered. Despite what others have said about her, she remains proud of her powers and personality. To Phoenix, her abilities are a key part of her identity and self-expression. So, who cares what people say? She won’t let the flame within her go out. She’ll face the next day with the same drive as she did the last, hoping she’ll burn brighter than before. Even if the embers of that fire recklessly scatter about, she’ll find a way to put herself back together…
…However, Phoenix's good intentions aren’t enough to convince everyone. Phoenix’s tendency to act first and think later, while useful in some situations, can lead to disaster in others. Her impulsivity, especially when using her powers, has made people view her as reckless and even careless. Little people have tried to understand Phoenix, instead tending to jump to conclusions and state she’s an inherent danger to those around her. Her whole life, people have insisted that she’s trouble, a dangerous influence, a monster.
These endless rumors and taunts have haunted Phoenix her whole life. In her worst moments, she can’t help but be drawn to isolation. If she is a monster like they say, she might as well shield her loved ones from what’s to come. Even the warriors, who are some of the first to give her a chance, might start to think the same about her if she isn’t careful. If she ends up hurting them, how could she ever be forgiven?
No, she knows better. This time, she’ll keep it together. She’ll stay out of trouble, she’ll make sure nothing happens, that they weren’t right about what they said about her.
And if they are…?
…She’ll do whatever she can to make things right.

Warnings: Bullying, (Fictional) Discrimination?
Phoenix, in sharp contrast to most of the warriors, grew up in a loving and stable Elementarian household. Her mothers have been her strongest supporters since she was young, and were the people who encouraged her to freely express herself the way she does now. Phoenix’s home town, Solís, has a strict policy against power usage. Considering Phoenix’s abilities were both a release and form of self-expression for her, it would be genuinely hurtful for her to repress or mask them. As a result, Phoenix had been the subject of ridicule the moment she started to develop her abilities. Being a fire elementarian (and thus having more “destructive” abilities) did not help matters, as people already had the idea in their heads that something was bound to go wrong one way or another.
As Phoenix grew up, this bad reputation of hers only grew. All of Phoenix’s mistakes, even those which were reasonable given her age, were scrutinized to the highest degree. This was especially weaponized by those working under Solís’s mayor, who used Phoenix’s antics as yet another example as to why power usage was so dangerous to the people of their town. Phoenix’s family was constantly subjected to backhanded comments. Many “pitied” her parents for having such a “burden” on their lives. Considering she was constantly being torn down by her peers, and especially by the parents of her peers, it’s no doubt that without her own parent’s unconditional support Phoenix would be floundering much more than she already was.
However, no amount of support could stop the endless barrage of harassment from getting to Phoenix. Though she continues to be herself in spite of everything, it is clear that these never-ending waves of critique have both torn down her self-esteem and amped up her insecurities. Phoenix can’t help but fear she is only tolerated by her parents, that one day they’re going to realize how she was a lost cause, and leave her to fend for herself. With each accidental mishap she gets into, she can’t help but feel as if she’s slowly tipping the scale, testing their patience with her hiccups.
While this is obviously not true, Phoenix can’t help but feel like it is under the overwhelming negativity spun her way. It’s hard to make friends when everyone views you as “weird” at best and “outright dangerous” at worst. It’s hard to not think that soon enough, the people who claim to love you are going to end up thinking the same way everyone else does. That there’s something wrong with you, that you need to be fixed, that you are the problem. Nobody wants to deal with a problem, and certainly nobody wants to be friends with one.
By the time Phoenix reached her teenage years, she’d gotten accustomed to this cycle. Another accident would mean more judgment, yes, but given she was constantly being judged anyways, why should she care? She tried her best to not let the comments get to her, to do her best to “control” herself and not let things get out of hand. This time, she’ll make things right, this time, they’ll see…
…She’s not a monster. She won’t let herself be. She’s been getting better.
With enough patience, she might just be able to prove it.

── ⋅ ── ♢ ── ⋅ ──
By the time Bewilthred’s story begins, Phoenix had gotten wrapped up in yet another incident. After being left unattended at a school fair while her parents ran some errands, she ran into Princess, the daughter of Solís’s mayor. Phoenix tried to ignore the obvious backhanded comments Princess and her friend were giving her. She’d already promised her parents she wouldn’t get into trouble, that she’d just stay on the sidelines and wait it out. However, after Princess and her friends directly tried to provoke Phoenix to make an example out of her, it was hard for her to keep her composure.
As Princess’s words got harsher, the more a crowd drew in, she demanded Phoenix fight her head on. After Princess used her own powers against Phoenix, Phoenix retaliated back in self defense. Unfortunately, though, to the outsiders looking in, most people came to the same conclusion as they always would. As the arrangers of the event rushed in to deal with the situation…it became obvious this incident would be no different from the last.
No matter what she did, it didn’t matter, everyone would always blame her anyway. Regardless of if she actually had done anything, she was always the bad guy. Always.
Maybe she really was a monster.
When Phoenix and her parents were ushered into the principal’s office, they were offered an ultimatum. Phoenix’s behavior was “getting out of hand”, and the only way for them to deal with it now would be to cut at the root of the problem entirely. Phoenix’s parents strongly protested against the decision, but it seemed it was never really in their hands to decide anyways.
Either Phoenix had to use power diffusers, locking her off from a key part of herself, or go somewhere else entirely.
Getting ready to head home, Phoenix couldn’t help but feel ashamed and heartbroken. Not even her parents' best attempts at a pep talk could cheer her up now. She had one job, one, and she failed.
All she had to do was stay out of trouble. She couldn’t even do that right.
Phoenix excused herself to the bathroom, she needed some space to feel terrible. She felt she’d already done enough to drag her parents down, she should at least process the bulk of this alone.
As she ruminated on why she had to be such a clutz, a disaster, a danger, a bright light shone outside. She couldn’t help but be drawn to it. As she wandered up to it, she decided to take a small peek…
…The ground violently shook shortly after, with Phoenix falling into the rift as a result.
Shortly after falling into the rift, Phoenix ended up in a garden on another planet named “Quescillia” and met six other teenagers just like her. Together, they meet Peace, the Keeper of Peace and manager of order in the universe. The seven of them are told they are part of a prophecy which says that one day seven warriors all from rifts would unite to save their universe from a rising galactic threat known as Omne, and learn that they just might be the last hope in stopping said threat from taking over the world as we know it. Peace assigns them her second in command, Hanabi to help guide them throughout their journey.
Despite their strange coming together, the group strives to do their best. Together as The Warriors of Peace (Or The WOP for short), they swear to always come out on top, and become who they’re meant to be…no matter who or what stands in their way.
Let’s just hope their efforts aren’t completely in vain…the universe depends on it.
"And I don't really care if you think I'm strange, I ain't gonna change!"
| 🔥 Introduction
── ⋅ ── ♢ ── ⋅ ──
On first impression, Phoenix is fiery, energetic, and passionate. Never afraid to stand up for someone in need, Phoenix is always fighting for what’s right. She’s loud, confident, and proud about who she is, and her lively nature keeps the warriors energized even in the most dreary of missions. Curious and adventurous, Phoenix is always looking for something to poke and prod at. Her compassion shines through every interaction she has, and though she might be a tad clumsy with her powers sometimes, those who give her a chance see she’s not as bad as so many try to make her out to be.
However, Phoenix acts with her heart more often than her head. While admirable in some cases, in others this can lead to terrible consequences. Especially considering the more destructive nature of her powers, if left out of check she could end up hurting instead of helping those she is trying to protect. Phoenix is also incredibly impulsive, jumping into things headfirst without a second thought or proper analysis of the situation. While this can come in handy if the warriors need someone to quickly charge ahead in battle, it can also hinder them by throwing them off balance, especially if Phoenix doesn’t ground herself.
Additionally, Phoenix strives to be independent, for better or for worse. She insists on taking on all of her problems herself, and rarely allows others to help her. She’s grown used to taking the blame and doing things on her own, so she’ll often shut others out even when she needs them most. Despite her confident exterior, she harbors a huge amount of fear and shame. She’s terrified of others viewing her the same way so many have viewed her for years, and if she has to isolate herself to prevent anyone else from getting hurt, so be it.
Most of Phoenix’s key points of learning throughout the story is managing her impulses. Phoenix reacts quickly to practically everything. While that in itself isn’t bad, it can lead to her making brash decisions that can hurt her or the people around her if not kept in check. Her strong emotions act as the fuel to these impulses, blinding her from the immediate consequences that may follow and remove the possibility of any foresight entirely. This can become a problem especially if Phoenix is acting without all proper sources of information and jumps to conclusions, which can make the situation even worse than if she had waited to react.
Another key point of learning for Phoenix is learning to let others help her. For Phoenix, trying to analyze and learn from her mistakes is extremely hard considering the immense shame attached to it in the past. Since all of Phoenix’s actions, even minor or even innocent ones, were put on the same level as one another, she has internalized the idea that all of her mistakes made her a bad person. Of course, this is obviously not true. In order to be able to learn and acknowledge her flaws without pairing it with self hatred, Phoenix has to internalize that her making a simple mistake doesn’t make her an evil person.
Additionally, Phoenix’s gut reaction either tells her to fight back, or to run away. Rarely in this is there an in between that offers others a chance to actually reach out and support her. She impulsively decides in the moment that either she must fight to prove herself, or run away to “protect” them from her. While this may look like she is avoiding taking any fault or blame, in reality, she is trying to shield herself from fear of being viewed the same way she’s been viewed a hundred times before. However, what she must realize is that many people (and the warriors especially) are looking to her with love rather than fear. If she lets them help her, she’d see that they aren’t going to throw her away just for one simple slip-up. In fact, it’d help her understand that she was never, ever a monster, and that she doesn’t deserve the scrutiny she receives. Impulsive or not, she deserves the same kindness to herself that she has always given to others.
| 🔥 ACT 1
── ⋅ ── ♢ ── ⋅ ──
Phoenix starts out Act 1 practically getting a fresh start. None of the warriors know about her reputation on Elementaria, so for the first time, she’s being given a chance to start anew. Being a part of The Warriors of Peace in itself meant that Phoenix would be able to help more than hurt more than ever in her life. Even ignoring the obvious appeal of adventure, becoming a hero instead of a villain was something she just couldn’t pass up. Unsurprisingly, this made Phoenix one of the the first to openly wear the new title of “Warrior of Peace” with pride. Similarly, she spends a lot of Act 1 embracing and channeling this new path that’s been offered to her.
Phoenix’s main learning point in Act 1 is how to find balance, especially as a warrior. Phoenix’s excitement over this new chance, while understandable, also makes it so that she’s more impulsive than ever. She is fueled by excitement and blinding heroism to jump in and take advantage of whatever the situation is offering her. Her ping-ponging between immense confidence and immense shame is also incredibly apparent here, as now the added immense pressure of finally having a fresh start makes her terrified of ending up right back where she started. As Act 1 progresses, Phoenix learns how to manage the highs of the inherently thrilling new circumstance, while also embracing the lows that being constantly exposed to conflict will also bring. Though it’ll take some time, as Phoenix learns to find stability and trust within her new companions, she’ll be able to find the same within herself too.

She was the last member of the official 7 WOP members that I made. I made her so late that she wasn’t even in the old 2018 pilot idea. Help.
